	Strong bones for an athletic body
		
		
			Dogs are accomplished athletes, from the smallest breeds weighing less than 5kg
			to those over 100kg. Their strong limbs are designed for running and jumping. In
			most breeds their limb bones are relatively long to help generate speed.

	Earthquake Turkey
		
		
			596 dead people, 4152 injured and 188 people rescued alive from the rubble. These
			are the official figures from the UN following the earthquake in Van/Turkey. 17
			survivors have been found by the rescue dogs from the IRO (International Rescue
			Dog Organisation) Member Organisation, ‘AKUT’.

		2011 European Coursing Championships in Oirschot: a competition with obstacles
		
		
			New records were set once again at the European Coursing Championships, with a total
			of 697 dogs, not including reserve starters, entered for this year’s competition
			(per breed) in the Dutch region of Oirschot, a few kilometres to the west of Eindhoven.

	The Norwegian Kennel Club hosts key 2011 show in Oslo
		
		
			On August 20-21, the Norwegian Kennel Club hosted one of their biggest dog shows
			of 2011 in Oslo. In addition to Dogs4All, which will be hosted in November, the
			Oslo show is one of the key events on the Norwegian show calendar.

	Everything about the old dog - a complete overview - part 1/2
		
		
			As a general rule of thumb, a dog who is 7 years or older should be considered middle
			to senior aged. According to the UC Davis Book of Dogs, small-breed dogs (such as
			small terriers) then become geriatric at about 11 years; medium-breed dogs (such

			The August weekend of 20-21.8.2011 saw the FCI's first international VGP for dachshunds
			taking place in Italy, based on the new trial regulations (PO) which had come into

	Liege inventive after fire destroyed part of the Expo complex
		
		
			Shortly after the 2010 Golden Trophy Show of Liege a fire destroyed one of the big
			halls (october), roughly 2/5th of the area. It was far from sure if the show of
			2011 would take place and if so where. There were a few options, pretty far away
			and more expensive or less practical.
